Teller provides in-person customer service to process routine financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, and loan payments. Processes requests for money orders, cashiers' and travelers' checks, and foreign currency exchanges. Being a Teller responds to customer inquiries, identifies needs, and makes referrals or cross-sells bank products and services. Prepares daily cash settlements and proof record for cash drawer and ATM following standard procedures. Additionally, Teller follows all required security procedures and policies regarding customers' personal information and money handling. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a head Teller. The Teller works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The Teller performs routine transactional, operational, and customer support tasks efficiently and accurately through knowledge of standard operating procedures; and identifies customer needs for bank products & services. The Teller is directly supervised by the Retail Bank Manager.
Hours are approximately 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday, ranging between 8:15 am & 6 pm (working until 6 pm about 3 times per week.); with rotating Saturdays 7:45 am – 12 pm.
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, occasional bending, kneeling, and squatting. Ability to lift 5 lbs. consistently and 30 lbs. occasionally.
Basic math aptitude is required and money handling experience is desired, the ability to exercise judgement is helpful. Strong oral communication, customer service, legible handwriting, and problem solving skills; and basic computer skills is required. Attention to detail is critical.
