Teller Manager supervises the teller staff and daily operations for a branch to meet operational and service standards. Ensures each day's transactions balance and oversees the auditing, reporting, and balancing operations. Being a Teller Manager reviews and approves exception transactions and researches and resolves discrepancies according to branch procedures. Prepares and manages the schedule and ensures sufficient teller coverage during busy periods. Additionally, Teller Manager responds to escalated customer issues and presents solutions. Trains staff members on operating, regulatory and security policies and procedures. Reviews tellers' performance, conducts performance appraisals, tracks cash differences, and issues corrective actions. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Teller Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Teller Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.   • PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

    Provides service to credit union members by conducting appropriate transactions and meeting the needs of members by referring them to appropriate departments in the credit union. Fills orders for currency and coins; counts and records cash deposits in the credit union's vault. The position will require a thorough understanding of credit union products and services to ensure complete member satisfaction.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1. Teller Duties

    • Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services. Directs members to appropriate department for specific information and service. Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells products to members; makes transfers to and from member accounts as directed.
    • Closes accounts with balances under $200.00. Accepts and processes MSR closure requests for share certificates.
    • Balances cash box daily and immediately reports outages and/or overages to supervisor.

    2. Security and BSA

    • Complies with all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) to help detect and prevent money laundering, including but not limited to submitting Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) for cash transactions over $10,000, reporting suspicious activity to immediate supervisor using appropriate notification form, and adhering to all other requirements mandated by federal regulations and the Credit Unions BSA/CIP/OFAC policy.

    3. Compliance

    • Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared.
    • Abides by all applicable rules, regulations and Credit Union policies and procedures.
    • Properly secures member information in accordance with Credit Union privacy and confidentiality policies. Ensures work area is neat and safe.
    • Completes required training for position within deadlines.

    4. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.


    JOB SPECIFICATIONS

    The incumbent must possess a high school diploma or GED as well as a minimum of six (6) months similar or related experience. Six (6) months experience handling large amounts of cash is preferred. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to talk, hear, stand, walk, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 5 to 30 pounds. This position involves sitting or standing for long periods of time and frequently viewing a computer monitor. This position requires good handeye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application information.

    EQUIPMENT SKILLS

    Personal computer with windows environment, copy machine, telephone, calculator and scanner.
