Job Summary:As an Assistant Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Director of Engineering in overseeing the technical operations and projects within the organization. You will assist in managing a team of engineers, coordinating engineering activities, and ensuring the successful execution of projects while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Team Leadership and Management:

   • Assist the Engineering Manager in leading and supervising a team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
   • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to facilitate their professional development and growth.
   • Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring equitable workload distribution and optimal resource utilization.

2. Project Management:

   • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects from conception to completion.
   • Assist in developing project plans, timelines, and budgets, and monitor progress to ensure adherence to schedule and budgetary constraints.
   • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to facilitate seamless project execution.

3. Technical Oversight and Support:

   • Provide technical expertise and guidance to team members on engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
   • Review engineering designs, specifications, and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards and regulations.
   • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions to mitigate project risks and maintain project momentum.

4. Quality Assurance and Compliance:

   • Assist in implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes and procedures to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services.
   • Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal policies.
   • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address non-conformities, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

5. Resource Management and Optimization:

   • Assist in managing engineering resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to support project requirements and organizational objectives.
   • Identify opportunities for resource optimization, cost reduction, and process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

6. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Foster open communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including management, peers, and cross-functional teams, to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.
   • Serve as a liaison between the engineering team and other departments to facilitate information sharing, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in engineering management or a leadership role within a technical environment.
• Strong technical background with expertise in engineering principles, design methodologies, and project management practices.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
