Test Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications. Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions. Being a Test Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Test Engineering Manager typically reports to a unit/department head. The Test Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Test Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Duties will include: First-line responder for production issues off-shift Improve throughput by keeping product moving Minimize equipment downtime Perform periodic calibration checks Requirements/Qualifications: AA degree, equivalent military training, technical diploma, or equivalent experience Willing to learn / acquire knowledge in relevant fields to advance technical skillset Have an aptitude for problem solving Good communication skills Evening and weekend hours required Other required skills include: Familiarity with parametric or functional testing Computer troubleshooting Experience in the semiconductor field is preferred Prior experience with TSK/Accretech probers a plus Travel Time: 0% - 25% Physical Attributes: Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around Others Physical Requirements: Standing/Walking/Sitting Microchip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
