EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Incumbent must be able to read, write and communicate clearly and an Associate’s Degree (60 credit hours) in a technical field, such as Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Electronics or Physics or graduate of a technical military service school plus eight years of related experience is required. Twelve years of related experience may be substituted for education requirement.
GENERAL DUTIES: This position coordinates and directs aspects of live mission objectives applicable to various E-OMS range support elements such as TSPI radars, telemetry, communications, EW threat systems, optics, laser, land range operations, CCTV, etc. Responsible for analyzing and interpreting range resource support requirements, anticipating potential problems, forecasting solutions, and coordinating changes for the successful execution of the mission operations order, in real-time. This person will brief and delegate personnel/resources on mission test requirements and assignments. Applicant must be capable of performing with a high degree of proficiency in an often stressful environment. Incumbent must be proficient with range safety requirements, other local related government agencies, and resources that impact mission activity. Must be able to perform primary job functions using computers and displays. Must be computer literate and capable of using input devices to manipulate software and hardware for data display. Maintain detailed logs of all pertinent information during assigned missions. Will be required to attend test planning meetings and pre-mission briefings. Will be required to review test documents and remain current with ongoing tests. Strong communications skills, to include radio communications and etiquette, are required. Performs with minimal supervision. Usually reports to a supervisor/group leader.
OTHER DUTIES: Job functions include interfacing with government test personnel, other contractors and various test customers for conducting tests, directing range resources during scheduled tests, coordinating data collection and pre/post calibrations, and supporting radar slew data verification. A customer services oriented demeanor is required. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of range capabilities and limitations. During a mission, all changes and/or mission essential information will be relayed through this position to the appropriate test range sites and/or personnel. Strong situational awareness, problem solving, and decision making skills are required. Must possess the ability to tactfully communicate with test engineers, project officers, and technical personnel. May be required to assist the aircraft controller during complex missions. After completing a mission this person will compile mission related comments from mission support elements and provide the test representatives and site supervisor with any advice that might improve or better accommodate the method of test. Will perform general housekeeping and other job/work area related tasks. May be assigned ancillary program duties such as site safety representative.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. All selected candidates must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of placement into this position. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement. May be required to work overtime, shift-work, weekends, and holidays as required to support missions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Duties will typically be performed indoors. Often, mission control room environments are dimly lit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This position will be subject to substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Must have visual acuity to regularly prepare and analyze data utilizing a computer system. Position requires very little lifting or moving of heavy objects or materials. May require sitting for long periods of time.
