Test Engineering Manager is responsible for managing the evaluation, recommendation and implementation of testing procedures and strategies for products, systems, components, or modifications. Acts as advisor to test engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations and acts as a liaison to other engineering functions. Being a Test Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Test Engineering Manager typically reports to a unit/department head. The Test Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Test Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required. The Test Manager will:- Lead execution of planned test cases, ensuring that all test results are correctly recorded against the system
- Create the test script format and example scripts
- Define the test process, own the test deliverables and requirements traceability matrix.
- Plan test timeline and milestone tracking
- Ensure test scripts are updated and are reusable throughout the project
- Agree the test schedule, monitor progress and results, raising delays with the Project Manager
- Execute test cases and capture test execution logs.
- Collaborate with the business stakeholders on testing approach for the project and assist in UAT
- Manage and progress the defect / issue list
Qualifications:- 2 years of related work experience
- Experience developing Test Plans, Test Scripts, UAT strategies, and overall test coordination on large enterprise implementations
- Experience with a large ERP project
- Strong documentation skills
- Solid problem solving and time management skills
- Great interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized
