    Axient Corp. is currently seeking a Technical Advisor to join the Test Engineering team, in the AirForce Weapon Center at Hill AFB, Utah.

    You will provide critical technical support to the ICBM Combined Test Force (CTF) Lead Developmental Test & Evaluation Organization (LDTO) in development test and evaluation (DT&E) activities for AF Nuclear Weapons Center missile systems.

    Responsibilities

     

    Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Provide technical support to the ICBM Combined Test Force (CTF) Lead Developmental Test & Evaluation Organization (LDTO) in development test and evaluation (DT&E) activities for AF Nuclear Weapons Center missile systems.
    • Support LGM-35A Sentinel development test efforts to assess performance against stated program requirements. Support to LGM-30G Minuteman III DT test projects may be required on occasion.
    • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary government and contractor team to plan, test, analyze, and report through multiple program acquisition phases.
    • Provide subject matter expert (SME) level guidance to government technical review authorities on the technical adequacy of nuclear hardness and survivability (NH&S) test plans to include radiation effects, electro-magnetic effects, induced environment effects, and shock and vibration
    • Act as board member on government-chaired technical review boards as required
    • Mentor junior NH&S engineers to improve their performance in developing strong NH&S test plans.
    • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to CTF and program office staff;
    • Provide detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvement and optimization development efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues.
    • Consult with the client to define need or problem supervises studies and leads surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice and recommend solutions
    • Generate and compile information to detail NH&S considerations in system testing.
    • Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and ITTs as appropriate to advocate for NH&S capabilities.
    • Coordinate intent and direction regularly with Combined Test Force counterparts in AFOTEC, the program office and the Prime contractor team
    • Maintain cognizance of all assigned CTF/Test Team engineering activities.
    • Assess test support and systems integration progress and trends of testing, identify problems and areas of concern for assigned systems.  
    • Provide technical support and advocate integrated approaches to support test activities for which existing guidelines may not be available or applicable.
    • Serve as a test team participant in the development of overall plans such as the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), System Test Plan (STP), Developmental Test (DT) Report, recommendation for IOT&E readiness, and other technical documents.
    • Perform other duties as coordinated with CTF and company leadership that utilize SME skills and experience.

    Qualifications

    Required Experience:

    • Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance at the required level.  An active and transferrable DoD security clearance with active investigation is highly desirable.
    • Bachelor’s or higher degree in related field such as EE, Physics, Nuclear Engineering.  A PhD is highly desired.
    • Over 10 years of experience required, some of which includes test and evaluation.  Sufficient additional experience can be substituted for education beyond the Bachelor’s level.
    • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in the NH&S area based on qualifications and/or extensive experience of exceptional and/or highly unique nature.. .
    • Extensive proficiency in working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams is highly desired.
    • Work is timely, efficient and of acceptable quality. Completed work meets project/program objectives.
    • Personal and organizational interactions exhibit and foster cooperation and teamwork, enhance customer relations, and actively promote rapport with customers
    • Verbal and written communications are clear, concise, and at appropriate level.
    • Utilize resources effectively to accomplish mission, including ability to work effectively alone, unsupervised, or within a group.  
    • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Focused adherence to safety and security requirements.
    • Familiarity with test & evaluation planning and processes consistent with DoD acquisition directives and policies is highly desired.
    • Familiarity with ICBM weapon systems and related subsystems/equipment, their projected use in the military, and methods of testing is highly desired.
    • Familiarity with ground and flight test conduct, data analysis/evaluation, modeling and simulation, technical report preparation, and administrative aspects of ground and flight test programs is highly desired
    • Must be willing to travel up to 10%.
