Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Test Technician to join our team. The candidate MUST BE ABLE TO BE ON CALL AND GET TO GARDEN CITY WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF A CALL when on call. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in performing various tests and procedures within a clinical occupational health facility. This position requires a strong understanding of laboratory protocols, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced setting. The Test Technician will be responsible for ensuring accurate test results while adhering to safety and quality standards. The technician will be certified to be a DOT collector in urine, breath, saliva, and hair collections.

Responsibilities

• MUST be willing to be on call nights and weekends at least two weekends per month.
• Perform DOT and non-DOT breath alcohol, urine, saliva, and hair collections.
• Perform in house and on-site drug screen collections.
• Take basic vital signs.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the integrity of samples collected.
• Maintain knowledge of physiology to accurately interpret test results.
• Assist in laboratory management tasks, including inventory control and equipment maintenance.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow within the laboratory.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.

Skills

• Knowledge of physiology relevant to testing processes.
• Looking for a team player, self starter, willingness to learn all new roles.
• Experience in drug testing collections is a plus.
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and healthcare professionals.
• Basic life support certification is desirable.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
