As an EMS Billing Clerk, you will play a vital role in our operations, assisting in the billing process and contributing to the success of our clients.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized EMS Billing Clerk to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the billing process for our EMS clients. This includes accurately reviewing and processing medical reports, generating invoices, verifying insurance information, resolving billing issues, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should understand medical billing procedures and have excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Generate and submit insurance claims, invoices, and statements in a timely manner.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility for patients, ensuring accurate billing and claims submission.
• Resolve billing issues, including rejected or denied claims, by communicating with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
• Maintain organized and accurate records of billing activities, including payments, adjustments, and collections.
• Stay up to date with insurance regulations and industry changes affecting EMS billing.
• Collaborate with the billing team to improve efficiency and streamline processes.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook proficiency
• Take phone calls from patients, clients, and communicate effectively and clearly with insurance payors.
• Proven experience as a billing clerk in the healthcare industry, preferably with EMS billing knowledge.
• Familiarity with insurance verification, claims submission, and follow-up processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to review and process complex medical reports.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
