    POSITION: Title Examiner

    Program: Land Title and Records Office

    SALARY: $21.47 per hour

    REPORTS TO: Land Title Records Manager

    LOCATION: Nespelem, WA

    Basic Functions: The incumbent is responsible for critical title research. This includes analyzing and examining complex historical documents ensuring all data is accurate. Incumbent will ensure all ownership and title records are maintained.

    Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education and Training:

    • Requires Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Real Estate, Finance, or Market Research; AND five years’ experience that demonstrates experience directly related to this position;
    • OR six years of experience directly related to Real Property Management or education may be substituted if it is directly related to Real Property Management

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Requires knowledge of Federal, State, County and Tribal regulations
    • Requires knowledge and understanding of Title 25, Indians, Code of Federal Regulations, 54 Indian Affairs Manual, Bureau Policy, and directives; real estate terminology, practices and contractual documents
    • Requires knowledgeable in different types of ownership documents whether fee or trust
    • Requires knowledge of the laws, regulations, and other guidelines which prescribe procedures and authorities covering all phases of work in order to serve the public, both Indian and Non-Indian
    • Requires knowledge of TAAMS, Word Processing and spreadsheets
    • Requires the ability to review documents and identify potential errors
    • Requires the ability to read legal descriptions, surveys on real estate and BLM/GLO plats
    • Requires the ability to keep accurate records
    • Requires the ability to write complete and clear reports
    • Requires the ability to pass security clearance to access all Federal Trust Systems
    Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
    TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
    If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
