Tool Crib Attendant jobs in Auburn, ME

Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.   • Summary

    Receives, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in industrial establishment by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Follow directions from superiors/subordinates
    • Operate VLM to gather tooling/gaging/supplies
    • Maintain a clean and organized area
    • Learn all tooling terminology
    • Identify all different types of tools
    • Maintain tool inventory and all other shop supplies
    • Notify supervisor of low inventory
    • Restocking VLM accurately
    • Learn how to use all necessary measuring instruments
    • Read/understand tooling prints
    • Understand setup sheet callouts and terminology
    • Set up tooling kits, and break them down when jobs are done
    • Re-tool kits so they are ready for next run
    • Basic excel knowledge to log incoming/outgoing gaging and tool kits
    • Communicate effectively with all operators to ensure they have all tooling necessary to complete jobs on both shifts
    • Sort UPS deliveries and verify receipt of product

    Education and/or Experience

    Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

    Reasoning Ability

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
