Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. The basic function of the Tool Crib Attendant is to handle all request for tools and tooling for production jobs from the crib and to maintain inventory of the necessary perishable tools. You need to be detailed oriented, highly organized, creative, flexible and a great team player.
Education and/or Experience:
- A minimum of two years in the shop or manufacturing area.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all request made at the crib window.
- To understand all terminology of tools etc. in this field.
- To review and pull all tools from setup sheets.
- To monitor and order perishable tooling as needed.
- To set tools for the CNC machining Centers.
- Standard Working Requirements:
- The physical ability to stand, reach, lift, and concentrate on the job at hand.
- Must have adequate vision
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment.
Other Requirements:
- Any job, task, or function within your ability requested to do by management.
Special Requirements:
- Must have good people skills. An in-depth knowledge of all the tools and fixtures related to aerospace machining industry.
