Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     Summary: Received, stores, and issues hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment in industrial establishment by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Issues tools and equipment to workers and maintains records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
    • Locates lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
    • Prepares periodic inventory or maintains perpetual inventory of tools and equipment.
    • Received, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
    • Inspects and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
    • Repairs, services, and lubricates tools and equipment.
    • Delivers tools or equipment to workers.
    • Marks and identifies tools and equipment.

    Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Education and/or Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

    Mathematical Skills: Ability to subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

    Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel and have good driving record.
