Tool Crib Attendant inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment. Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage. Being a Tool Crib Attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system. Orders new tools and equipment or repairs tools as needed. Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary:We have an immediate opening for a 2nd shift crib attendant at our Walker, MI. facility. This role is responsible for:
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools, equipment, and materials.
- Issues tools, materials, and equipment to workers.
- Maintains records of tools/equipment issued and returned.
- Locates lost or misplaced tools/equipment.
- Maintains perpetual inventory of materials, tools, and equipment; orders/requisitions stock to meet required inventory levels.
- Inspects tools and equipment for defects and wear, reports damage/wear to Tool Crib Supervisor.
- May deliver tools/equipment using hand truck or powered industrial truck.
- May mark and identify tools and equipment using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Must be able to understand and follow written and verbal workplace instructions.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours per day, including Saturday and Sunday.
- Must be able to obtain a Powered Industrial Truck license.
- Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
