Additionally, Tool Crib Attendant has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of heavy machinery and tools. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Crib Attendant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Summary/Purpose
Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for receiving, storing and issuing tools to support production demand. The tool crib attendant keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in the CAI tooling database.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
- Assist in acting as the lead in maintaining the accuracy of inventory record.
- Tracks inventory and orders new tools as necessary
- Assist in monitoring the availability of internal tools to support manufacturing demand.
- Receives, stores and issues machine tool, dies, punches etc. to setters and team leader and maintain records of tools issued and returned manually or using a computer.
- Locate lost or misplaced tools.
- Prepares periodic inventory of tools.
- Receives, unpacks, and stores incoming tools and requisitions to stock and replenish inventory.
- Inspects and measures tools for visual defects and wear, visually or using micrometer and reports damage or wear to supervisors.
- May deliver tools to setters or jig market.
- May mark and identify tools and equipment using identification tag, stamp or electric marking tool.
- Keep up with 5S withing the tool crib.
- Support the company and department business goals and objectives for quality, cost, delivery and Safety.
- Updates, replaces and maintains technical orders and data.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems with inventory inaccuracies through understanding of process flow.

- Knowledge and understanding of plant tooling is a plus.
- Ability to work without direct supervisor, to manage time effectively by multi-tasking.
- Experience with Oracle and BMS software is a plus.
- Proficient computer skills - MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written and electronic)
- 2 years’ manufacturing experience in related field
- High school diploma or equivalent

Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity for mechanical operation.
- The performance of this position will require exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and steel toe shoes.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. in a safe and controlled manner.
- Will be regularly required to climb, stand, sit, and reach with hands, fingers, and arms.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crouching are required.
- Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 5% - 10% of the time.
