Tool Design Engineer designs and develops tools and machinery used to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Reviews product design and build requirements to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineer develops designs for fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed.     Description

    We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design and development of new engine components and assemblies. This position offers the opportunity to work on exciting projects and collaborate with a team of passionate engineers.
     

    Daily Tasks

    • Design new engine components and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks)
    • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to ensure components meet performance and durability requirements.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.
    • Create and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings and specifications.
    • Support manufacturing and quality teams during the production process.
    • Participate in testing and validation activities to ensure product performance and reliability.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • 3 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the automotive or manufacturing industry
    • Proficiency in CAD software, SolidWorks preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of engineering principles and practices
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Passion for automotive performance and engines is a plus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • A manufacturing environment may require heavy lifting and manual labor.

    HOURS

    • 1st shift (standard work week, automatic overtime built into each Friday)
      • Monday – Thursday 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
      • Friday 7:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
