Utilizes Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to create accurate, complete, and concise design models and documentation to fabricate tools. Additionally, Tool Design Engineer estimates costs, resource requirements, and materials required for tools. May manage the sourcing, quoting, or procurement of purchased tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Tool Design Engineer work is closely managed. Job Summary:
The Cutting Tool Designer will initiate and complete the concept design phase for special form tools & complex modified standard cutting tools, produce new drawings, and designate production routings across a variety of industries. The Cutting Tool Designer will work with the Sales Team and the Customer to ensure tooling is designed and released to the shop on time and with accuracy.
