Tool Design Engineering Manager manages the design and development of tools and machinery to facilitate and optimize manufacturing processes. Leads design reviews to determine tooling concepts, design options, testing plans, and specifications. Being a Tool Design Engineering Manager provides expert input to resolve design issues and innovate solutions. Oversees the design, fabrication, sourcing, and procurement of fixtures, jigs, gauges, cutting and forming tools, carts, racks, and other items to support production. Additionally, Tool Design Engineering Manager ensures design documentation and models for the fabrication of tools are accurately prepared. Controls budgets, costs, resource allocation, and materials required for tools. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Tool Design Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Tool Design Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Job Overview:

    Due to company growth, we are actively seeking an additional Senior Manager, Distribution Design to join our Engineering Team's efforts. 

    Responsibilities & Duties:

    • Provide leadership and strategic direction to distribution design engineering team
    • Expert level knowledge and understanding of electrical power distribution design in overhead and underground utility
    • Provide technical leadership in complex projects or processes that have a wide impact on the business
    • Manage the design and work process between the customer, contractors, utilities, and others involved in the process
    • Review quality and accuracy of field notes and designs and work with Engineers, Field Engineering Representatives, construction supervisors, and field employees to resolve issues identified.
    • Providing expert guidance and support to develop a team that is continually growing through training, support, and the needed growth capabilities
    • Promoting a culture of “can do attitude” and “say do” ratio with project deadline and quality across the team
    • Work with QA/QC engineer to ensure processes and execute procedures to ensure safety is number one priority.
    • Provide engineering support to team to ensure execution of all assigned work
    • Establish and manage the goals and objectives for completing projects and utility program work while achieving proper utilization of personnel
    • Develop and support team in both technical and behavioral competencies
    • Continuously work with the Talent Acquisition team to help a build a strong candidate pipeline

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Power Systems is required.
    • 7 years of experience in related to distribution power delivery field, and a minimum of 3 years of managing and leading a team
    • Ability to collaborate across departments
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
