Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor jobs in Cheyenne, WY

Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members.   • Summary: Produces and maintains production tooling as well as produces pre-production parts by performing the following duties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    Produces simple production fixtures.

    Welds, machines and assembles tooling and fixtures per Engineering Department designs.

    Produces first production part using tooling to prove the design of tooling and fixtures. Corrects and modifies tooling as needed to produce production parts.

    Produces prototype or pre-production parts without the use of tooling.

    Modifies and repairs existing tooling as needed.

    Education and/or Experience:
