Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Job Purpose:
Supervises and coordinates activities of tool and die makers engaged in the production and repair of metal working dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools. Applies knowledge of tool and die design and construction, shop mathematics, metal properties, machining, and assembly procedures.

Physical Requirements:
Able to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds to waist level. Occasionally pushes and/or pulls up to 30 pounds. Occasionally bends and stoops. Must be able to on occasion withstand a minimum of 2 to 3 hours drawing sketches or doing modifications. Must wear applicable and proper protective equipment including, but not limited to protective eye and/or hearing equipment to safely perform job duties. Will occasionally be exposed to chemicals, dust, heat, cold, gas, and/or fumes. Must be able to adjust to normal plant environmental conditions (above moderate heat and cold) and to adapt quickly to physical applications requiring varying motor skills.
