ABOUT THE ROLE 

Amsted Automotive Group, Shelby Twp, is seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker who will be responsible for supporting production operation setup and efficiencies by keeping tools and dies optimized. This is a day shift opportunity 7 am - 3pm.

WHAT YOU’LL DO   

• Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principals using 5”S” and Kaizen processes
• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives through Continuous Improvement action plan participation and completion
• Troubleshoot, Repair, Maintain and optimize transfer and line dies in press and out as required
• Operate Tool room equipment and machinery with precision
• Supports press setup and efficiency as a team to achieve posted expectations
• Adherence to safety procedures and protocols
• Uses root cause analysis, problem solving skills to promote efficiency and quality
• Directly responsible to maintain product quality to print specifications where applicable
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Supervisor, Tooling Supervisor, or Tooling Leader
• Serves in the capacity of waste water handler commensurate with completion of proper environmental training

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED   

• Must demonstrate proficiency of Blueprint GD&T interpretation of Dies, Details, and Part Prints
• Must be able to effectively troubleshoot and solve daily operational deficiencies
• Usage of a computer and other productivity machinery such as control panels
• Must be able to interpret C.M.M. or gaging information and adjust Tooling to maintain Customer Quality requirements
• Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria to maintain manufacturing environmental standards to protect and preserve or customers product and the environment
