Tool & Die Maker in Die Assembly
Penn United Technologies, Inc. is now accepting applications for a full-time Tool & Die Maker for our Die Assembly are in our Tooling Division. As an Apprentice or Journey worker, this person would thrive working in a fast paced, highly collaborative environment, building and developing precision tooling to produce a wide variety of parts for our medical, defense, and energy customers.

Responsibilities:
- Able to / learn to set-up and operate various machine tools such as lathes, milling machines and surface grinders in order to machine or grind components to precise specifications
- Able to / learn to set-up and operate various stamping equipment such as CNC punch press, mechanical stamping presses and servo stamping presses
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances using measuring instruments, such as dial indicators, gauge blocks, thickness gauges, micrometers, alignment lights, and Smart Scopes
- Communicate with co-workers and team leader to receive instructions and coordinate activities
- Able to / learn to fit and assemble tooling
Qualifications:
- Ability & desire to do precision work
- Previous experience with manual machining and grinding is a plus, but not required
- Previous experience blueprint reading, and use of precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers required
- High level of technical, mechanical and math ability
- Able to troubleshoot mechanical processes
- Desire to learn and ability to apply knowledge to on-the-job tasks
- Shift is predominately daylight, however candidates must be willing to work an off-shift as needed.
- Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., and stand 8-10 hours per day
- Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
- Determination of Journey worker or Apprentice status is dependent upon direct related prior progressive die experience and/or Journey worker papers
