Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor oversees skilled workers responsible for constructing, maintaining, modifying, and calibrating machine shop tools, dies, prototypes, jigs, fixtures and molds. Supervises the set up and operation of various lathes, grinders, milling, and boring machines used to produce tools. Being a Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor completes high level tool development work. Ensures jobs are completed correctly and on time. Additionally, Tool, Die, and Gauge Making Supervisor may require an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. Job Summary:
Create, monitor and maintain inventory; including raw materials, tool crib, consumables and other. Procure supplies, raw materials, parts and assemblies necessary to support production. Write requisitions, contact vendors and exercise good judgment. Repair and coordinate maintenance on all tooling and equipment checked in and out of tool crib. Occasionally make purchases at prices consistent with quality and quantity specifications. Ensures timely delivery of materials to their respective fabrication, machining, or assembly areas. Ensures loading and unloading of material in a timely manner. Ensures proper inspection of received material and put into stock in proper location. Operate various types and size lift trucks, mobile yard crane, and overhead cranes.

Essential Physical Functions:
Requires lifting of at least 50lbs, stooping, bending and stretching to accomplish assigned duties. Requires sitting (forklift) for long periods of time and may require standing, bending and stooping for extended periods of time.

Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer's safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

Forklift (All sizes), Company trucks (Those that do not require a CDL), Truck tie downs, Yard crane and shop overhead cranes, Man lifts.

Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

Working Conditions:
Works inside and outside a typical fabrication shop surrounding. Occasionally called upon to work overtime. Working conditions may vary according to weather. Requires ability to work in heat and cold.
