Top Audit Executive develops, leads, and executes a comprehensive enterprise-wide internal auditing strategy, function, and practice adhering to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Establishes the auditing governance framework and procedures to attain long-term auditing objectives. Being a Top Audit Executive directs the creation of annual audit plans. Engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Additionally, Top Audit Executive delivers audit reports to leadership and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Sets goals for the auditing team and builds expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to top management. The Top Audit Executive manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity driven professional to add to our “Excellence Team” based in DeRidder, LA. The Audit Specialist will ensure that all Workers’ Compensation interim and final audit premiums are accurately calculated.
Qualifications
- Bookkeeping/accounting experience minimum, Preferred
- Insurance experience minimum 1 year, Preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational, communication and decision making skills
- Problem solver and detail oriented
- Great verbal and written communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Team player and project oriented
- Basic typing and computer skills
- High School diploma
Responsibilities
- Accurately calculate premium for the audit term
- Input/Review audit information in ICAMS and Audit program
- Review state and Bureau guidelines and algorithm to determine premium accurate premium calculation
- Utilize available resources for account/audit analysis
- Process productive and non-productive audits for voluntary and assigned risk markets
- Communicate and obtain necessary documentation from policyholders, agents, or underwriters to justify revisions and/or audit/policy discrepancies
- Compile audit information and correction(s) to auditors worksheets
- Request endorsements necessary to process the audits from underwriting as well as weekly follow ups
- Compose and mail letters regarding billings/disbursements to policyholder
- Some supervision required
- Able to meet deadlines
- Minimum average of 40 audits processed weekly
- Performs additional assignments and special projects as requested by supervisor
- Foster the AMERISAFE culture by embracing the pillars of consistency, focus, frugality, ownership and service
