The Business Development Executive (BDE) is responsible for generating revenue and maintaining prescribed profit margins by selling to and servicing strategic business customers in accordance with annual sales and profit targets. The BDE will do this by researching and developing new business opportunities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prospects and hunts for new accounts and for key contacts within those accounts. Closes new business deals with existing and new customers.
- Travels to customer sites to identify/develop sales opportunities.
- Meets revenue and profit margin targets
- Maintains deep knowledge of the assigned industry and awareness of market trends.
- Maintains deep understanding of customer strategies and can map RWC products and services to customer needs in order to grow revenue, profit and strengthen relationships.
- Holds quarterly meetings with leadership, both internally and with client.
- Updates CRM data daily.
- Participates in the annual budget process planning session to provide customer and market input to the process. 5
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
- 5 years of experience working as an outside sales representative, meeting quota, closing sales.
- Detailed understanding of strategic and operational supply chain concepts.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting and hunting for new business with new and existing customers.
- Proficient in MS Suite.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to identify, lead or participate in process improvement projects.
- He/She must be able to manage a fast pace and must have previously demonstrated strong time management skills.
- He/She must be able to manage multiple sales opportunities and tasks simultaneously and be able to prioritize key tasks and deliverables.
- Confident and assertive.
- Superior ability to build rapport and to build relationships with customers, people he/she does not currently know.
- Must have worked in a structured sales territory and account management, familiar with prospecting, lead generation and qualifying, and pipeline management for a minimum of 5 years.
- Demonstrated ability to balance multiple tasks and presentations to all levels within the client organization.
- Must have demonstrated experience building relationships with executives and senior management at client organizations and within own organization.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills and public speaking skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE
- MBA is a plus
- Experience with CRM systems
