    The Executive Director of Facilities Management is responsible for the planning and implementation of capital construction, deferred maintenance projects, and oversight of facility operations. This includes, but is not limited to, project management, cost estimating, scheduling and oversight of bidding and contracts. The Executive Director also provides leadership, guidance, and administrative oversight for the daily maintenance and operations of the 24 x 7 residential campus. Facilities team includes, buildings, grounds, power plant and trades employees and contracted environmental, environmental health, and safety and other contractor services.

    Job Requirements:
    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or related field required.
    Five years' experience in facilities management (or equivalent logistical/operations experience), with experience supervising and leading a large diverse group of staff to work collaboratively.
    Commitment to the mission and philosophy of the college, with a strong understanding and respect for college-wide goals and priorities.
    Proven ability to maximize efficiencies in capital renewal, deferred maintenance, and operations.
    Knowledge of building systems, trades, materials, and experience working with construction contractors.
    Demonstrated knowledge and experience with all federal and state laws, regulations and procedures regarding safety including OSHA, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), HAZMAT, DCC, LEED building practices, sustainability, etc.
    Strong budget and project management experience.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Demonstrated support for and encouragement of a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
    Experience positively working with a wide variety of constituents; ability to develop and maintain harmonious working relationships with internal and external constituents.
    Demonstrated ability to be well organized and manage multiple tasks.
    Must be able to work with a high level of integrity.
    Must reside within a one hour of the College.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degree or academic credentials beyond undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or 10-15 years' experience in related field.
    Experience with Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) or similar state government capital funding entity.
    Within 1 year of employment must be certified with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) Academy, and CAMIS (DCAMM information system) to maintain employment.
    Prior capital planning and operations management experience.
    Professional experience within higher education preferred.
    Knowledge of state procurement or construction contracting experience.
    Experience supervising in a collective bargaining environment.
    OSHA 10-Hour training and certificate; experience with chemical hygiene, or must pass the test within first year of employment.

    Physical Requirements

    A typical day requires travel (irregular and steep terrain) between buildings.
    Sufficient vision to read printed documents, including mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings, and process detail on a computer screen for extended periods.
    Ability to speak in an understandable voice with sufficient volume to be heard in normal conversation both indoors and outdoors, despite some background noise.

    Environmental Factors

    Is exposed to excessive noise.
    Is around moving machinery.
    Is exposed to marked changes in temperature and/or humidity.
    Is exposed to dust, fumes.
