Position Summary: The Clinical Systems Analyst will work with the clinical team to implement and support clinical applications in the MVH Homes and facilities through the maximization of automated information systems. The position will work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, support staff and IS department members. The Clinical Systems Analyst will assess operations and needs, train, optimize, problem solve and support clinical information technology.

Job Related Responsibilities and Activities:

• Observes, understands and analyzes clinical workflow and configures information system to support workflow.
• Customizes clinical templates to fit MVH’s workflow and clinician needs.
• Works with the Manager of Clinical Support Systems to identify strategies to attain organizational priorities.
• Works with end users to maximize utilization of automated information systems to achieve organizational objectives.
• Interacts with multi-disciplinary & administrative staff to resolve issues and maximize end user satisfaction.
• Sets up clinical staff in applicable software applications and manages security administration.
• Creates training & technical documentation for clinical information systems and collaborates with other training resources.
• Provides clinical information systems training to include Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE), electronic Health Record (EHR), electronic medication and treatment records (eMAR & eTAR), CNA documentation, MDS and other related functions.
• Trains new staff on the use of computerized clinical systems and provides additional training when changes are made to the systems.
• Takes responsibility to determine learning needs and seeks out opportunities for such.
• Helps Manager of Clinical Support Systems to develop clinical system super users.
• Ensures data and information is accurately conveyed in clinical reports.
• Monitors and audits system configuration, clinical documentation and charge capture to identify end user training needs and system improvements.
• Monitors HIPAA compliance and reports noncompliance to privacy and security officers consistent with corporate policy.
• Leads, mentors and coaches staff who operate and troubleshoot computer system.
• Acts as project support on implementation of EHR.
• Works with management team to negotiate and monitor plan progress.
• Manages data validation, monitoring and maintenance activities of clinical software and interfaces.
• Collaborates with Administration and clinical teams to motivate and support staff undergoing rapid process change.
• Leads, mentors and coaches implementation team(s).
• Oversees parallel testing of new or upgraded clinical packages.
• Provides oral & written communications/presentations on project status, system modifications, etc.
• Works with vendors on enhancements, fixes and changes.
• Trouble shoots and problem solves IS related issues.
• Works cooperatively with IS for interfacing and technical environmental issues as well as back-up and recovery processes.
• Works collaboratively with IS to ensure end user competency and satisfaction with clinical information workflow.
• Sits on committees as requested.
• Maintains knowledge of current products and processes through continuous education.
• Fields questions, problems and provides support for system users in all facilities regarding the clinical software during off hours and weekends through an on-call assignment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: This position requires a two or four year under graduate degree. Five or more years in healthcare clinical workflow and related clinical practices is required. Long Term Care experience is preferred.
