Holmes Weddle & Barcott, PC is seeking a Collections Clerk to assist in ensuring timely payments from clients, resolving payment discrepancies, and maintaining records of collection activity. The Collections Clerk will be responsible for monitoring and managing the firm’s accounts receivable, developing strategies for collection of past due accounts, and coordinating collection plans. The Collections Clerk will work closely with the accounting department to reconcile client accounts, as well as attorneys to identify individualized collection strategies, plans, and needs. The Collections Clerk will contact clients directly via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding items as needed. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. The ability to professionally engage with clients at the direction of shareholders and responsible attorneys is key to success in this position. The Collections Clerk will be expected to provide regular updates to shareholders on the status of outstanding accounts and any potential risks or issues on a monthly basis. Prior collections experience preferred, particularly in a law firm environment. An accounting background is desirable, but not required.
