    Job Title: MCC Foundation Executive Director

    Reports To: Marshalltown Community College Foundation Board of Directors

    Works With: Part time Office Associate (salary is paid by the MCC Foundation)

    Goal: Plan and implement fundraising programs for the MCC Foundation. Develop, maintain, and utilize effective communications for internal and external audiences. Communication will inform, persuade, and prompt favorable action in financial support of Marshalltown Community College.

    Qualifications: 
    • Associates Degree preferred in fundraising, marketing, business or mass communication.
    • Three or more years successful experience in fundraising for a non-profit organization.
    • Knowledge of public and private funding sources and various fundraising techniques: annual giving, planned giving, capital campaign.
    • Effective management and organizational skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Effective interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will have proven experience in establishing and accomplishing goals. Also, proven initiative and independent judgment.

    Performance Responsibilities: 
    • Oversee the execution of over 150 unique scholarships with differing criteria, including verification of eligibility for several hundred students annually.
    • Maintain accurate balances of scholarship funds and calculate amounts available to award multiple time per year.
    • Plan, coordinate, and manage all fundraising activities.
    • Recommend, prepare, and manage the budget. Facilitate bookkeeping/accounting procedures.
    • Plan and organize board meetings.
    • Provide the Board with regular updates. Prepare and distribute an Annual Report for the Board, MCC faculty & staff, IVCCD staff, donors, alumni, and the general public.
    • Cultivate prospective donors for annual gifts and planned gifts. Plan recognition functions.
    • Alert and assist faculty and staff in finding sources of support from individuals, foundations, corporations and businesses.
    • Maintain and build support from alumni.
    • Assist with grant writing as needed.
    Terms of Employment: Part Time, at-will position. Follows the calendar of Iowa Valley Community College. Salary based on experience.
