    Summary of Job Duties:The Executive Director is responsible for the successful management of Engineering and Operations (E&O), Planning, Design & Construction and Clinical Engineering departments.Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar
    • 12 years of Facilities Management experience including 7 years of Supervisory experience

    Licenses, Certificates, or Registration:

    • CHFM
    • Certified Healthcare Construction (CHC)

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in engineering, architecture, business, healthcare administration or environmental sciences plus 10 years of Facilities Management experience including 7 years of Supervisory experience

    Licenses, Certificates, or Registration:

    • PE
    • AIA
    • LEED AP
    • CEM
    • CEFP


    Additional Information:

    • Position will be responsible for the leadership, oversite and strategic planning of 15 direct reports and 108 indirect reports.
    • The Engineering & Operations Department is responsible for the proper and sustainable maintenance and operations of: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC Controls, Fire Alarm Systems, Preventative Maintenance, General Maintenance, Plant Operations, Grounds, Clinical Engineering services for Medical equipment and Minor Renovation and Construction Projects for 5M square feet with a combined annual operating budget that exceeds 12M and an annual utility budget of approximately 13M.
    • Responsible for managing construction projects and studies by directing the Planning, Design & Construction team. This work begins with an initial project concept and scope, and continues through planning, design, construction, and project close-out for all construction and remodel projects at UAMS.
    • Provides leadership and guidance during all phases of project development and construction.
    • This position reports directly to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Campus Operations.
    • Additionally, the Executive Director is a primary leader for UAMS's work in all areas of sustainable operations and builds on our current position as a national leader in energy efficiency.
    • Lead a team responsible for reporting UAMS's decarbonization commitments with the US Department of Health and Human Services, the National Academy of Medicine, and other sustainability metrics.
    • Serve as Co-Chair of campus Sustainability Steering Committee and works with counterparts to develop cross functional programs that improve the sustainability of UAMS operations across our academic, research and patient care missions.
