    About Your Work 

    As the Contracts Manager at Altais, you will be Responsible for managing and negotiating Payer Contracts for all lines of business; Commercial, Medicare and Medi-Caid HMO, PPO, and ACO.  Primary duties include health plan operations, contract analyses, negotiations and contributing to operational implementation.

    You will focus on:

    • Health Plan Contract Management: Oversee multiple health plan contracts in California, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to budgetary targets.
    • Negotiation Leadership: Conduct negotiations with health plan partners, utilizing financial analysis and historical data to drive favorable outcomes.
    • Communication Coordination: Draft and disseminate timely communication regarding new and renewed health plan arrangements to internal stakeholders, including executive summaries and updates.
    • Data Management: Maintain accurate contract data in a centralized database for tracking and reporting purposes.
    • Relationship Building: Develop and nurture relationships with health plan partners, serving as a primary point of contact for all levels of contracting staff.
    • Issue Resolution: Act as a liaison to resolve operational problems related to health plan contracts, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
    • Resource Organization: Organize and maintain health plan payer resources for easy accessibility and reference within the organization.
    • Support Provider Contracts: Provide support for provider contract negotiations and collaborate with operational leaders to ensure compliance with contract terms.
    • Education and Training: Conduct in-service education sessions to educate the organization on health plan relationships and contract terms.
    • Adaptable Responsiveness: Perform office functions accurately within established deadlines and adapt to evolving needs and responsibilities as required.

    The Skills, Experience & Education You Bring 

    • Educational Background and Experience: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required, with a minimum of five years of managed healthcare contracting and health plan negotiating experience, including at least three years working for a health plan or medical group/IPA.
    • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Proficient in advanced problem-solving and analytical techniques to foster positive relationships internally and externally.
    • Negotiation Expertise: Well-versed in health plan negotiating and managed care operations, demonstrating the ability to secure favorable outcomes.
    • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including health plans, peers, executives, and support staff.
    • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, essential for effective interaction with diverse audiences.
    • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, crucial for creating presentations and managing data.
    • Multitasking Abilities: Capacity to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Adaptability: Flexibility and agility in adjusting to changing priorities and circumstances.
    • Training and Education Skills: Strongly preferred ability to deliver training and educational sessions.
    • Financial Analysis: Competency in financial analysis and understanding of contracting regulations, highly desirable.

    The anticipated pay range for this role is listed in our salary posting for transparency but may vary based on factors including the candidate’s qualifications, skills, experience, and geographic location. This base pay range is specific to California and can vary based on Bay Area, Metro LA, and Greater California regions which may not be applicable to other locations.

    Physical Requirements: Office Environment - roles involving part to full time schedule in Office Environment. Based in our physical offices and work from home office/deskwork – Activity level: Sedentary, frequency most of workday.
