Strategic Analysis, Inc. (SA) is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the corporate team. The Financial Analyst provides operational support to internal and external customers, to ensure successful contract financial performance.  The Sr. Financial Analyst will perform various analyses to promote profitability and cost control on existing contracts, as well as assist with pricing for new and current efforts. This position interfaces with diverse functional areas to ensure risks are understood and financial performance is achieved.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Provide financial analysis on existing and potential contracts in the areas of billability, profitability, revenue, burn rate, risk analysis and risk mitigation. 
• Provide data to and advise the Program Managers regarding contract statuses, proactively identifying potential contract issues and remedies.
• Maintain current financial reports to allow Program Managers to assess the financial status of their contracts and workforce.
• Prepare financial information for briefings, presentations, and status reports.
• Advise Contracts Administrators and Program Managers on subcontract related financial issues.
• Ensure adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, preparing expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government.
• Set up cost control systems; monitor costs and forecasts on contracts to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines.
• Review cost reports for accuracy and research contract related issues.
• Participate in monthly activities, such as invoice review, financial report deliverables, and timesheet approvals.
• Responsible for contract set up and maintenance in accounting system.
• Perform budgeting and forecasting exercises/scenarios, including Estimates to Complete (ETC).
• Prepare financial information for briefings, presentations, and status reports.
• Ability to comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline.
• 5-8 years of experience related to financial analysis of government contracts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). 
• Experience using Deltek Costpoint.
• Strong mathematical skills and understanding of indirect rates structures, profit, budgeting and variance analysis.
• Understanding of DoD contracts, government Cost Accounting Standards, FAR and DFARs, and ability to interpret and communicate relevant information from contractual documents.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to prioritize and deliver various products, reflecting sensitivity to customer’s needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to communicate information in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to work within rapidly changing business environment and make critical decisions that are based upon sound financial principles.
