Description

Metric5 is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for work leading a software

development project within the Department of Defense / NGA. The Senior Systems

Engineer will work with an O&M team to securely maintain and deploy updates to the existing web

based knowledge repository that is built upon AWS Cloud technologies to all client domains. You are

comfortable working side by side with other engineers, product managers, designers, and clients,

making decisions together to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. You

have a passion to maintain secure high-quality, reliable, and available software solutions and are a

fast learner. This position is on-site in either Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO with some flexibility to

work remotely.

Required Skills

• 5 years of experience with system administration, system patching and related duties
• Designing, provisioning, monitoring, and administering AWS-cloud based applications
• Building Microsoft Core Technologies on AWS
• File Access Rights
• Security Certification
• System Security/Patching
• Server Installation (Operating System)
• Tier 2 troubleshooting of Servers
• Tier 2 troubleshooting of VDI Environment
• Monitoring system health, report and resolving hardware and software issues
• Develops and documents Standard Operating Processes and Procedures
• Follow up on customer support problems
• Will require occasional after hours and/or weekend work to support operational issue

Salary Range: $130,000 - $165,000 annually

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related technical degree required and
