Funding Coordinator duties:
To ensure that the funding for a client is processed correctly and entered into our system, the database for clinical charting and billing.
To keep track of authorizations from insurance companies and counties and enter them into the system to allow for billing and payment.
To ensure that the Drug and Alcohol Abuse Normative Evaluation System (DAANES) documentation and entry is keep up date and accurate.
To admit and discharge clients from the system.
To check for insurance changes on the first of the month on the state MN-ITS system. If changes occur then the Funding Coordinator works with the Primary Counselor or Counselor Supervisor to ensure that insurance updates are sent out for authorization.
Check on MN-ITS system at the beginning of the month to see if any LTP clients are eligible for OP services.
To contact insurance companies upon client admission, so that authorizations can be sent from the insurance company.
Minimum Qualifications: Previous healthcare billing experience; Associate degree or equivalent experience; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Very well organized; Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines; Ability to remain on task and follow through on projects to their completion; Database, spreadsheet, and word processing computer skills; Ability to maintain professional standards of conduct and appearance with co-workers and the public; Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization's vehicle insurance carrier; Approved background check
