The Sales Associate position is responsible for developing, maintaining, and interacting with new and existing customers to increase sales of products and/or services. Develop in tandem with BMR Assistant Manager, sales strategies designed to demonstrate the features and benefits of the products to achieve increased sales and profitability. In addition, this position is responsible for Sales Support for the Outside Sales Team, Retail Store, Phone Sales, Lead Generation, and Quotes, and assisting in meeting the established goals and operating procedures of the Company.

- Contact new and existing customers through, but not limited to, phone calls, emails, mailings, fax, and seminars to communicate opportunities to extend initiatives with the company.
- Load and unload Rental Equipment for Customers and ensure loads are properly secured before leaving the premises.
- Match services to customers' requirements and close contracts for defined services.
- Collaborate with product management and account management to facilitate new services or programs, messages, campaigns, and offerings.
- Ability to perform Preventative Maintenance and Inspections on small engines and rental equipment upon return.
- Engages in technical discussions with potential clients through demonstrations and presentations.
- Remains knowledgeable and up-to-date on changes and developments in all products offered by the company.

Duties and responsibilities
- Retail Store processes including cashier transactions if needed
- Executing sales programs for either some or all of the company's product line
- Constant interaction with the Front Counter Sales team and the customer to properly determine customer requirements and expectations, aid in their decision-making, and recommend specific products and solutions.
- Provide alternative options to accommodate cost, availability, or specifications; sell the complete package through project-related items, cross-selling, up-selling, and promoting sale items.
- Evaluate new product and market opportunities and communicate analysis to management. Establishing and maintaining rapport with key contacts in key markets; identifying current and future needs and potential changes including special pricing needs and communicating those requirements with the BMR Assistant Store Manager.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales, and margin plans, and generate new and repeat sales
- Build customer loyalty by assisting in product demonstrations, and providing product and technical information, literature, and sample requests. Educate customers as needed on industry trends, terminology, product features and benefits, and current product promotions.
- Follow a customer contact schedule to ensure proper preparedness for Deliveries. Partner with Purchasing Department and BMR Assistant Store Manager to ensure inventory levels support sales volume, non-Stock special orders, and backorders are being processed, sold product is pulled, and deliveries are scheduled in a timely manner. Monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Skill, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Strong Commitment to Customer Service including positive Professional Verbal & Non-Verbal Communication Skills. Able to properly interact with customers of all backgrounds.
- Knowledgeable in Sales practices and procedures, negotiation, and pricing strategies. Ability to identify growth opportunities and customer potential, and generate new sales leads.
- Knowledgeable in Computer Skills (I.E. Windows applications, Excel, E-mail, Word, and computer record keeping.
- Strong Time Management Skills, ability to prioritize; complete tasks and assignments in a timely manner, and to seek additional projects and opportunities in down times.

Position type/ Expected hours of work
This is a full-time position and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Rotating Saturday shifts from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm as scheduled by management.
Work Environment
This job operates in an office and outdoor environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. You may be asked to operate rental equipment and ensure that equipment is properly loaded and secured on trailers prior to departure.
Required Education and Experiences
Required: High school or equivalent
Preferred: High School Diploma
Valid Driver’s License – must be insurable with company insurance.
Bilingual Spanish speaking is preferred
Experience:
- A minimum of 2 (two) years of Sales experience is required, industry and market knowledge preferred.
- 2 or more years of post-related work experience in an industry-related position; 2 or more years of Retail Sales experience can be substituted at the Store Manager’s discretion.
