Government Affairs Representative / Senior | Federal & State Affairs - Are you passionate about shaping public policy and governmental affairs at both the state and federal levels? Arizona Public Service is seeking a talented Government Affairs Representative/Senior to join our team! Plan, coordinate and execute actions to insure favorable governmental and public policy affairs with city, county and state agencies, and to liaison with company's Federal Public Affairs Reps in order to effect favorable public policy decisions as they relate to APS.
You are responsible for:

1) Lobby State and local elected and non-elected officials to influence governmental action as it may impact the company's operations.
2) Work with the Company business units to achieve favorable outcomes in the development of laws and regulations that may impact the Company.
3) Research and analyze local, state, and federal legislation and policy issues.
4) Ensure favorable company image with governmental, civic and public opinion leaders by maintaining relationships with governmental and community leaders and with industry representatives and associations.
5) Provide updates and summaries of legislation and regulatory proceedings to Company leadership by understanding and engaging the local, state and federal processes that are critical to the company.
6) Maintain relationships with other industry lobbyists so that common concerns are understood and conflicts are minimized.
7) Continually develop, review, and analyze major public policy issues affecting APS while participating in industry wide efforts to promote or oppose city, state and federal legislation or actions which may have substantial impact on company or industry.

This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:
*Employees in Flex roles are required to reside in Arizona (or NM for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need.
