    Position Purpose:

    As a Government and Public Affairs Manager with our Trillium Community Health Plan, you will establish and maintain successful relationships with government officials, policymakers, agencies, business/trade groups, community-based organizations, members, and other key stakeholders to enhance the company's business interests by connecting with government officials.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is both a HYBRID (office/home) and FIELD-BASED position.

    • Primary office location: 13221 SW 68th Pkwy, Tigard, Oregon
    • Field-based areas: Tri-County Area - Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington County, Oregon
    • Travel: 1 -2 times per week (depends on health fair events, galas, etc.)
    • Current state driver's license in good standing required.

    In this Government and Public Affairs Manager role, you will:

    • Under the direction and guidance of the Director, the Manager, will manage government relations activities including coordination of lobbying activities, managing inquiries and requests from elected officials and/or key interest groups, and shaping legislative strategies through issue advocacy and coalition-building
    • Serve as the company’s liaison to elected officials, policymakers, business and trade associations, and other key stakeholders
    • Establish and maintain strong governmental, political and community network within the company’s markets
    • Identify and advise senior leaders of key trends, regulatory interests and/or concerns that may impact the company’s market position
    • Analyze public policy positions and recommend and prepares appropriate positions aligned with the company’s business objectives
    • Prepare and present reports to senior leaders and business units
    • Represent the company’s interests in proceedings and/or external meetings

    Education/Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Marketing/Communications, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, related field, or equivalent combination of skills, experience, and education that provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and ability required to perform the job.
    • 5 years of experience in legislative, political and/or public policy arena, managed care or health related field. Experience working with elected officials, government, or business and/or trade associations preferred.
    • Experience working with the uninsured, under-insured and diverse populations preferred.

    License/Certification: Current state’s driver license

    IMPORTANT NOTE: This position is both a HYBRID (office/home) and FIELD-BASED position. Current state driver's license in good standing required. Primary office location: 13221 SW 68th Pkwy, Tigard, Oregon. Oregon field-based areas: Tri-County Area - Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington County.     Pay Range: $84,300.00 - $151,700.00 per year

    Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
