    Position Overview
    Individual will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and be responsible for expanding the Spend Matters client base and introducing new products to existing customers. Account Executives will join the company at a time when their ideas and character will have an influence on company development. Spend Matters is looking for individuals with experience in hunting, farming and blended. The ideal candidate is someone with high energy, a curiosity about the industry, and tenacity. This person will bring new ideas, think outside the box, have a deep passion for the role and create ways to attain new accounts.  

    Responsibilities include:
    • Generate lead flow: Identify and pursue new business opportunities from your own prospecting and leads generated through content marketing and events.
    • Handle deal cycle from prospecting to close. 
    • Find ways to link the company’s content and data to the needs and priorities of customers.  Be an active reader/learner of firm content and link it to sales strategies that work. 
    • Work with customers to devise custom content and research projects that expand their business with Spend Matters
    • Expand buying relationships to multiple personas within customer organizations - analyst relations, product marketing, product management and sales. 
    • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that align with client needs and balance internal execution realities.
    • Develop customers to become advocates. 

    Ideal Experience
    • At least 2 years of sales experience
    • A thoroughly trained, high volume sales resource, who is accustomed to spending significant time each day on the phone on both cold calls and chasing up leads (in addition to text, email, social channels to follow up as required).
    • Aggressive new customer selling history. 
    • Selling products in the SaaS space, analyst services, custom marketing projects, and those that leverage market expertise as part of the story (e.g. branding, demand generation, events). 
    • Building revenue-generating relationships with multiple buyers/departments within an organization.
    • Knowledge of the Procurement Technology space is a plus.

    • Self-motivated with a results/KPI-driven mindset. 
    • Loves working independently AND working with internal parties to come up with custom but deliverable projects
    • Strong written, verbal, and visual capabilities
    • Desire to be a market expert and willingness to learn new things, fearlessly.
