Job Summary/Overview
The SCA Pool Technician is responsible for oversight of the SCA pools, spa, and water features. The Pool Technician is a "hands-on" visible position and must exhibit excellent customer service skills to members of the community, the public and other employees. Personal contact occurs with residents, and other departments within the company, including consultants, contractors, and vendors. This position is responsible for completing their duties in a safe and efficient manner. This is a highly visible position requiring the utmost awareness of how actions and communications are perceived. Need to have the ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
The schedule for this position is Friday through Tuesday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm with Wednesday and Thursday off. Weekends are required. Schedule is subject to change.
Essential Duties and responsibilities

o Reports any observed threats to the safety of the buildings and amenities from fire, flood, and other hazards.
o Reports "Requests for Repairs" to the SCA Facilities Manager
o Performs the routine checking of all resident ID cards.
o Cleans and maintains all pools, spas, and water features.
o Perform testing of water quality and adjust chemical levels as needed following proper guidelines.
o Cleans and maintains all pool deck furniture, fencing, and other pool equipment on a regular basis.
o Cleans and maintains pool deck areas.
o Makes or coordinates necessary repairs to equipment.
In addition to the responsibilities described above, the role may include such other responsibilities and duties as assigned from time to time, based upon the company’s needs or requirements.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Technical Skills)
· High School diploma, GED, or a combination of education and work experience
· Must have 2-3 years of related experience
· Must have the ability to lift up to seventy-five pounds
· Working knowledge of Florida statutes, administrative codes, and Public Health Department pool codes/requirements.
· Must have strong people skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
· Conflict resolution skills
· Time management and organizational skills
Technical Requirements:
· Mechanical knowledge of various applicable equipment as needed or required.
· Ability to read and understand technical journals, blueprints, and schematics.
· Certified Pool Operator certification
· Knowledgeable of SDS information
· Experience with Pit Style Filter Systems preferred

Must be flexible, schedules may be rearranged to meet deadlines, attend meetings and community activities or to cover open shifts. Position requires the ability to work independently and within a team environment. Willingness to assist team members when requested.

Organizational Relationships
Reports to: SCA Facilities Manager/Assistant General Manager. This position maintains a close working relationship with SCA Assistant Facilities Manager, team members, and SCA/Parkway Maintenance employees.
Certifications or Licenses
· Current valid Florida driver’s license is mandatory with acceptable driving history.
· Current Pool Certification (CPO)
