THE OPPORTUNITY:

We are seeking a Marketing Specialist in our Commercial Lines department who will manage the placement of commercial client’s business to best cover exposures with the broadest terms at the most competitive costs. The Marketing Specialist reviews and analyzes policies on all assigned accounts and understands our clients/prospects’ risk and exposures.

Responsibilities:

• Market all lines of commercial insurance and directly impact revenue goals through the acquisition of new business and the retention of renewals.

• Assist in the analysis of line of business and insurance company production trends and make recommendations to correct deficiencies.

• Act as account liaison for the producer in dealing with other departments within HUB for the quoting of specialized lines of coverage.

• Assist producers with pre-underwriting information gathering, submission, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations if needed.

• Execute a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring coverage, condition, rating and pricing accuracy.

• Effectively build relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions, company visitations and hard, but fair, negotiations.

• Demonstrate an understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriate risk submissions.

• Accurately maintain new business and renewal control logs, which assist the department head in identifying trends.

• Maintain a basic understanding of market underwriting appetite, line of business trends, and insurance company changes, rating technique and coverage development.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• 5-7 years of marketing or underwriting experience

• College or University Degree preferred

• Results-driven with track record of developing and implementing integrated marketing plans

• Knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets

• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects

• Highly organized with the ability to juggle competing demands, priorities and resources

• Highly analytical, critical thinker

• Strong leadership and team-building skills

• Strong negotiation skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Continued focus on growing in insurance knowledge and education.

Disclosure required under applicable municipal regulations in NY and NJ, as well as the law in Colorado, California and Washington states: The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $85,000 /yr. and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
