    About the job: Area Residential Care is seeking an experienced non-profit administrator to assume the planning and implementation of its day-to-day program operations. The position is the chief operating officer, responsible for all aspects of the services provided by the agency, including:

    • Establish and maintain policies and procedures that guide the provision of services;

    • Ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation bodies;

    • Maintain positive relationships with referral and funding sources; and

    • Supervise the performance of program management staff.

    The position reports to the Executive Director of the agency and acts in his/her stead when the Executive Director is absent.


    Wage: $55,471.20 - $75,642.66 depending on experience and education.

    Qualified applicants will have:

    • A BA/BS in human services, public administration, non-profit administration, or a comparable field;

    • A minimum of 4 years’ experience in an administrative or supervisory position

    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

    • Proven leadership capabilities

    • Professional communication and technical skills

    • Demonstrated ability to self-initiate necessary tasks.

    Highly qualified candidates will have:

    • A master’s degree, preferably in a human services field

    • Experience with national accreditation

    • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations and experience with the IDD population is strongly desired

    The successful candidate is required to successfully pass a background check and complete a pre-employment physical and drug screen as a condition of employment. In accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services mandate, candidates for employment must provide evidence of their first COVID-19 vaccine prior to the start of employment, or successfully request a medical or religious exemption to this requirement. The second vaccine is required within 30 days unless exempted.
