The opportunity
As
Senior Director, Patent Attorney, you’ll lead the intellectual property strategy for Teva’s generic products in the U.S. market, providing critical advice to senior R&D and commercial teams to drive timely, low-risk launches. You’ll manage a skilled team of patent professionals across the U.S. and Israel, with a direct reporting line to the VP, Chief Patent Counsel.
How You’ll Spend Your Day
- Collaborate with R&D to shape patent strategies and develop invalidity positions
- Determine ANDA submission strategy, in collaboration with regulatory affairs
- Support the IP litigation team and advise commercial teams on product launch dates
- Work with global IP colleagues on manufacturing, API, and device clearances
- Collaborate with IP litigation team and support as required
- Advise Commercial/Launch Teams on potential product launch dates
Your Experience And Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a top law school - required
- Advanced science degree - preferred
- 12-15 years in patent law, with experience in small molecule pharmaceuticals
- Admission to practice law in New Jersey or ability to obtain an in-house license
- Prior experience managing a team of employees
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, presentation and strategic thinking skills
- Strong business acumen
- Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities
- Ability to think strategically and tackle complex problems
- Ability to identify, advise on, minimize business risks, and propose practical solutions
- Strong customer-orientation; an ability to see issues from the point of view of others
- Ability to work successfully and cooperatively with colleagues across multiple cultures and time-zones
- Substantive experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
