Top Purchasing Executive leads procurement and purchasing operations and develops strategic plans to provide the materials and services to meet organizational requirements for quality, volume, availability, and pricing. Evaluates and develops strategic supplier relationships, negotiates contracts, and implements systems for monitoring performance, assessing risk, and responding to changes in demand or disruptions in the supply chain. Being a Top Purchasing Executive fosters collaboration with other functions to define current and future inventory requirements and manage inventory levels. Designs processes and systems and utilizes technical tools to analyze data and increase responsiveness to material demands. Additionally, Top Purchasing Executive incorporates auditing processes to ensure procurement and recordkeeping comply with any applicable industry or governmental regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Top Purchasing Executive manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.     Collins Plumbing is looking for a Purchasing Agent to join our team. The Purchasing Agent has the responsibility and authority for the procurement of all project related materials including all pipe, valves and fittings, fixtures, equipment and rental equipment.

    Compensation range: $75,000 – $95,000 BOE

    The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Prepares and maintains a purchasing record
    • Provides pricing to Estimating
    • Prepares Product Submittals and Close Out documents
    • Uses PO system for all orders
    • Receives purchasing requests from departments

    · Establishes the company's purchasing and inventory levels based on input from estimators on job requirements and minimum stock

    • Purchases equipment, fixtures, trim, subcontracts and other special items, working from the job take-off
    • Searches inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand has sufficient quantity.
    • Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid
    • Review invoices directly related to all purchase orders issued ensuring accurate cost are being invoiced by vendor.
    • Identify, coordinate, and document nonconformance with products and/or services to resolve problems or implement corrective action.
    • Initiating, recommending, or providing corrective action to identified problems.
    • Locate new alternative sources of material.
    • Maintain positive and constructive relations with vendor and client representatives.
    • Assist in training of assistant purchasing personnel.
    • Assist Purchasing Manager when required.

    INTERACTIONS:

    Extensive interfacing with vendors, product representatives, project & jobsite personnel, and the various other departments within the office community.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college, 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in Plumbing purchasing procedures. Knowledge of pipe, fittings, valves, joining methods and equipment is a must. Spanish is a plus.

    While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit and walk.

    Required to hear, understand and clearly speak the English language.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $81,345.00 - $86,443.00 per year
