Diesel Technician - $29.00/HR
This is a contract position with an opportunity to be hired full-time.
Integrity Trade Services has partnered up with a marine service company in St. Rose, LA. and is hiring Diesel Technicians. Receive comprehensive benefits through ITS upon hire!
**Knowledge of Diesel Engine and Hydraulic System diagnostics and preventive maintenance**
Diesel Technician Responsibilities
- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
- Read and understand operating manuals
- Adjust and maintain industrial machinery, using control and regulating devices.
- Observe all safety precautions and wear appropriate PPE at all time.
- Cross-train on alternate assignments and perform duties in other work areas as needed
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned work area
- Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager
Diesel Technician Qualifications
- 1-3 years’ experience
- Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours when needed
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
- Stable work history
- Reliable transportation
- Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
- Positive attitude; good team player
- Knowledge of Diesel Engine and Hydraulic System diagnostics and preventive maintenance
Location: St. Rose, LA. (and surrounding cities)
Work Shifts Available:
Day shift – 7:00am to 5:00pm
Diesel Technician Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently exert 100 lbs. of force to push, and pull or otherwise move objects
- Work involves long periods of standing, squatting, bending, twisting and reaching; may also include climbing
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions – heat, cold, rain
- Good manual dexterity, including the ability to make precise finger movements and the ability to keep arms and hands steady.
- Need normal vision and hearing
