Job Description
SUMMARY
Conducts college courses for undergraduate students by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned and/or included in the Faculty Handbook.
Teaches government within prescribed curriculum.
Prepares and delivers lectures to students.
Compiles bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments.
Stimulates class discussions.
Compiles, administers, and grades examinations.
Performs related duties such as advising students on academic and vocational curricula, and acting as adviser to student organizations.
Serves on faculty committees.
Performs assessments to measure student learning outcomes
Performs other duties as assigned by the department chair

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
Ability to get along with others and operate within a team and collegiate environment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Consistent with instructional area.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree (M. A.) with 18 graduate hours in the teaching area.
