The Assistant Director of Camp position is responsible for implementing the vision and mission for the Family Support Department. The Assistant Director of Camp is responsible for implementing the growth and financial stability of all the camp programs. The Assistant Director of Camp serves as a management position to the Director of Family Support, providing and implementing the strategic business plans for the program.
The Assistant Director of Camp acts as a leader in implementing the changes for the growth of the camp including implementing the strategic plan for camp. Part of the Assistant Directors role is the ability of the Assistant Director to communicate proactively inter and intra departmentally and create partnerships to provide integrated solutions to achieve the visions and missions for the agency. This role also includes formulating partnerships across the Citizens/ AHRC/BCCS organization, and OPWDD, DOH, ACA and all future organizations, to deliver best practice, person centered service, which reflects the vision and mission of the organization. The Assistant Director of Camp services implements the compliance and quality assurance for all the policies/ laws/ accrediting and regulatory bodies for all programs within the department for all camp programs.
Primary duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are variable depending on the camp programs oversight required. Generally – flexible Monday through Friday, October to May although may require evening and weekend for oversight of the program. May- September requires flexibility around the camp program including weekends and evenings. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work as job duties demand especially during the summer camp season.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or degree with relevant experience in the program or relevant industry experience of 3 years /summers. Working knowledge of programs, including camp or programs certified by OPWDD, understanding and implementation of best practices in programming operations and utilization of funding sources including med waiver, implementation of compliance and quality assurance standards within programs.
Intermediate to Advance knowledge and experience with MS office Suite, MS Excel and database systems.
