Purpose: CMCF is in need of an Assistant to support the Chief Compliance Officer with a wide range of risk management, compliance, and legal issues. This individual will have independent responsibility for projects including monitoring and audits, staff training, and research.
Assist with contract preparation and tracking of contract terms
Support many aspects of the risk management department, including compliance, risk management, and performance improvement research, documentation, and memos
Assist with coordination of review and revision of corporate policies and procedures.
Maintain corporate and professional liability insurance renewals, tracking, organization/updates, audits.
Assist with coordination of annual redeeming application for the FTCA program and track compliance with all requirements
Support patient safety program systems, including follow up on incident and safety concern reports, quality improvement investigations, root cause analyses, and staff trainings
Support initiatives surrounding Institute for Healthcare Improvement curriculum for providers and residents
Perform periodic compliance audits on a number of topics, in accordance with the annual compliance work plan
Support the performance of quarterly risk management assessments and the preparation of an annual report to the Board of Directors on all risk management activities
Support compliance with requirements for periodic updates with the 340(b) program
Support compliance with requirements for periodic filings with the USAC program
Track and complete updates to the organization’s general application with the Joint Commission in order to ensure it is up to date and accurate
Track completion of staff trainings
Assist with accurate and complete record keeping for compliance, legal, and risk management activities
Support emergency preparedness initiatives, including but not limited to safety trainings, safety drills, and collaboration with external entities.
Assist with coordination of annual review of compliance work plan, compliance and risk management programs, and ensuring that all other company policies and procedures undergo annual review by their respective department leads
Collaborate on and contribute to cross-functional projects and objectives
Model, support, and enforce Cahaba Medical Care’s Core Cultural Competencies
Degree in healthcare administration, business management, legal studies, or other relevant field, or equivalent experience (1 year in healthcare administration, auditing, or legal service) preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically
Disciplined sensitivity regarding confidential information
Critical thinking to ask appropriate questions and recognize potential compliance issues
