Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Position: Traffic Control Flagger / Traffic Control Specialist
Reports to: Traffic Control Foreman / Supervisor
Summary:
Utility Traffic & Restoration, LLC. (UTR) is now accepting applications for numerous immediate openings traffic control technicians (flaggers) and Device Haulers (equipment delivery drivers). UTR is a union contractor specializing in traffic control and surface restoration services for utility companies and their contractors throughout the Midwest.
Primary responsibilities:
- Set up, maintain, and remove temporary traffic control work zones and flag traffic according to MUTCD & MNDOT standards to maintain safe work zones for customers
- Additional duties as requested by management
Additional notes:
- Full time, non-seasonal position. Hours and location often depend on customer needs and can be weather dependent
- Entrance into IBEW local 160 union is required for employment
- Overtime is sometimes required dependent on customer needs
- Travel is sometimes a requirement. Company paid hotel stays to be expected for multiple day projects that are further away from designated office/shop

Qualifications:
- Temporary traffic control experience is highly desired, but will train the right candidate
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, is required
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with vendors, customers, and employee’s
- Ability to coordinate several tasks at once and work under strict deadlines
- Valid driver’s license class D with clean driving record
- Must be able to pass a background check, drug testing, and DOT physical
- Must always be reliable and professional
- Ability to safely operate a company vehicle to and from job sites
- Must have strong attention to detail and surroundings
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a semi-regular basis
- Compliance with all safety regulations is mandatory
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
