Traffic Clerk, Sr. provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk, Sr. contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk, Sr. prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk, Sr. works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.     • Enter Juneau County citations written by County, State, DNR, UW-Madison and municipal LEO. Process citations as they are closed.•Receipt money from the traffic department and prepare bank deposit for the Clerk of Courts account.•Prepare suspensions, revocations, alcohol and ignition interlock device pertaining to driver license sentencing and send electronically to DOT.*Correct DOT reports.*Prepare Warrants as ordered by the Court.•Cancel Warrants when financial obligations are met or so ordered by the Court.•Maintain the filing of citations that are paid or disposed.•Maintain a working knowledge of the closing of the accounts and the month-end reports so to assist with final closings.•Answer questions from persons in our office or by phone.•Write letters regarding citations.•Prepare Calendar for traffic court and clerk calendar minutes for all hearings, court and jury trials.•Place tickets and cases in "Time to "Pay" and send out corresponding letters.•Review pretrial conference files for District Attorney's office.•Answer telephone, compose letters for inquiries and answer inquiries over the counter.•Perform financial duties as required or requested.•Filing for office as needed.•Performs other office functions as required and assists in all aspects of the department.•Consults guidelines such as Wisconsin Traffic Laws.•Assists head bookkeeper with general office records and reports.* Tax Intercept duties.* Debit/Credit Card processing for payment of money owed to County.* Maintain and operate Digital Audio Recording equipment for all Court Commissioner hearings regarding traffic, DNR, juvenile, forfeiture and municipal cases. Prepare the recordings upon requests.* Electronic filings which requires setting up a special email file to be able to accept citations, forward criminal to the District Attorney and process civil tickets by the CCAP system. *DNR electronic filings.*Maintain and update all ordinances in CCAP.*Set up and monitor payment plans for collections of County and State.*Notary dutiesThis position requires frequent exercise of initiative and judgment in applying prescribed procedures to non-routine situations. Employees are expected to perform relatively independently.
