Traffic Director leads and directs the traffic department to efficiently and safely move materials and products to designated destinations. Develops and maintains transportation and distribution procedures to maximize delivery efficiency and minimize delivery costs. Being a Traffic Director evaluates and selects appropriate transportation carriers and routes. Resolves delivery issues for both internal and external customers. Additionally, Traffic Director monitors, analyzes, and reviews loss and damage claims and makes recommendations for improved safety. Oversees costs and processes to adhere to budgets. Ensures compliance with all DOT/OSHA guidelines. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Traffic Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Traffic Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     We are seeking a computer-savvy Rockstar to join our team! The Permit Coordinator oversees all aspects of permits management, works with a design team in the Traffic Control industry to ensure projects stay on track by administering permits, and expediting the permit process for all parties.

    Key Responsibilities Include:

    • Coordinate, process, administer, inspect, and procure Maintenance of Traffic permits.
    • Enter all permit-related Data into the Department's permits tracking system.
    • Obtain documents from Engineers and CAD drafters to facilitate the permit application process.
    • Process all permits expeditiously as required.
    • Work closely with the municipalities on the status of permits and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
    • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, etc.
    • Track all permits and regularly report permit statuses to the Project Manager and/or our customer.
    • Maintain all company files relating to site plan applications, approvals, licenses, and permits.
    • Meet with municipality representatives and customers, attend meetings on behalf of STS. to present projects and request approvals.

    What We Are Looking For:

    • High School Graduate or equivalent GED, and some college.
    • Minimum 1 year of permitting experience required.
    • Knowledge of the Traffic Control Industry preferred.
    • Strong organizational and management skills, ability to prioritize and take initiative.
    • Must be able to read MOT plans and analyze related to Federal and State standards.
    • Must be detail-oriented team player comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a heavy volume workload.
    • Advanced PC skills Microsoft Word and Excel.
    • Excellent follow-up, communication (written and verbal) and time management skills.
    • Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.

    Working Environment:

    Work will be performed within office and field environments. Requires travel to job sites around the Fort Lauderdale area to hold pre-construction meetings; involves working near high-speed traffic and large construction equipment on occasion.
